The first thing you are going to do is stop paying all unsecured debts. That is, stop paying all credit cards and any other debts that do not relate to tangible assets, such as your house or car. These debts will be written off from your loan after 7 years from the date they first become overdue. Don't pay these creditors a dime. If you do this, the 7 year period will be reset.
You will be chased by lenders. If you can afford a debt lawyer, tell them that they are not allowed to contact you and give them your lawyer's contact information instead. This can be very effective as most creditors look for debtors who will not resist. | |
